This strip of land in the heart of Europe is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful and interesting cultural and recreational regions on the continent: the region encompasses almost the entire Lower Rhine region on the German side and the provinces of Northern and Central  Limburg as well as Gelderland and a part of North Brabant on the Netherlands’ side. There is hardly another place in the world where you can so eventfully experience the harmonious as well as exciting interaction between nature and culture, traditional and present-day, and Dutch and German history. Naturally we cannot depict all of the attractions of the Lower Rhine here fully; the area is too diverse, the attractions too numerous. But, we would still like to arouse your curiosity a little by telling you of some well-known places to see or experience and by giving you a few tips on how to spend unforgettable hours, days or weeks in the Lower Rhine.
